Join us for our fifth annual women’s retreat and be nourished by a warm and supportive circle of powerful women as we practice yoga, share, and restore together! Just an hour away from NYC, you will feel worlds away at the beautiful Garrison Institute (https://www.garrisoninstitute.org/about-us/our-story-so-far/), a former Capuchin monastery overlooking the Hudson River. It is easily reached either by car or Metro North Railroad (free shuttle service between the Garrison Metro North Station and the Institute is available and will be scheduled the week before the retreat).

Once again, this year has been tumultuous on a global level for all of us, and on a personal level for many of us. We may be frazzled, weary, frustrated, and even depressed. When we take the time to step out of our habits, slow down, absorb the breath of life, and spend time with other inspiring women, we change on a cellular level, find a new level of calm within us, and can live more joyfully and satisfyingly when we return to our regular lives.

This beautiful autumn weekend includes juicy yoga practices (both active and restorative, all levels welcome), along with labyrinth walks, personal time, circle time for reflection and sharing, and wonderful mealtime conversations with new and old friends.

The intensity of the yoga practice will range from gentle/restorative to strong. Practitioners of all levels are welcome, and we will modify as needed. Chairs and cushions are available, as are mats and blocks. Bring a yoga strap and blanket if you have one, and your own mat if you like.

Bring paper and pens for writing and/or drawing, as impressions arise during our sweet weekend together. You’ll feel restored after a weekend of moving, resting, being quiet, listening, speaking, connecting, laughing, crying, making friends, eating great food, and soaking in the spirit of this magical place. Pack clothing for yoga, an extra layer or two for restorative yoga/meditation, and appropriate shoes (sneakers) and clothes for easy hikes/walks on the property. The grounds include a labyrinth, lawns, river overlooks and paths down to the Hudson River.

Accommodations:
Single, double, or triple room, shared bath, Friday – Sunday.
Check-in is between 3-4:45pm on Friday (FIRST SESSION STARTS AT 5PM),
Check-out after lunch on Sunday (grounds will remain open after building closes at 2pm, so you can stay and explore).

Communal vegetarian meals:
Friday night dinner through Sunday lunch, and snacks. Gluten-free and simple steamed items are available.
Please let us know if there are dietary restrictions. If you want to supplement with non-vegetarian or other items, there is a refrigerator available. Most students have loved the food and not found supplementation to be necessary.

– Yoga practices (both active and restorative) throughout the weekend.
– Circle time with attendees.
– Time for silence, if you so choose.
– Time to walk the grounds and enjoy the views of the Hudson River.

Ingrid A. Marcroft is co-founder of the NYC-based yoga studio Upper West Side Yoga and Wellness, an E-RYT500 Yoga Alliance Certified Yoga Instructor, Urban Zen Integrative Therapist, Ordained Interfaith Minister, Reiki Master, Spouse, Mother, Daughter, Sister, Friend, and has been a healing facilitator with extremely diverse populations for over two decades. Yoga is her main tool for inner and outer peace.

Single room (shared bath): Early Bird $580 per person. After September 15, $630 per person.
Double room (shared bath): Early Bird $530 per person. After September 15, $580 per person. (Please let us know your roommate’s name, or let us know if you need one!)
Triple room (shared bath): Early Bird $490 per person. After September 15, $540 per person. (Please let us know your roommates’ names, or let us know if you need them!)
If you’d like to share your room with someone(s) in particular, please let us know. Space is limited! If you sign up for a double or triple and have not assigned a roommate, we will try to find one or two for you. If we can’t find someone, you will be charged for a single or double room, depending. Bring a friend! : )

Scholarships: There are three partial scholarships available for this retreat. These funds have been donated to UWS Yoga and Wellness from our Meditation classes (thank you for your continued support of these classes!). If you are interested in receiving a partial scholarship, please submit a letter to info@uwsyoga.com as to your need and intention for joining the retreat. Only letters received before September 15th will be considered. Scholarship recipients will receive notification by October 1st.

Cancellation Policy:
If cancellation is made prior to October 15, 2018, all but $100 of the amount paid will be returned. If cancellation is made on or after October, 2018, no refund is possible. However, your spot may be transferred to another participant, and you may coordinate payment between you.
